My cafe racer: In a magazine!

Gordon

Been Around the Block
The bike had been for a shoot, even though it isn't complete. Minor details were still pending. Stuff like painting seat brackets, brake pedal, hiding wires were still remaining. Anyways, they loved it. The bike has been featured in a popular Indian magazine. I'm quite happy that what started out as a small project, turned out to be so good and everything thats there on the bike is almost as if it was meant to be :)

The magazine guys sent me the photos. Here are some of them. Will upload more soon.

A summary of the stuff done since we got the bike:

Custom Rearsets
Clubman Handlebar
Short Custom Front mudguard
Short Custom Rear mudguard
Taillight, registration plate and indicator assembly
Upswept Goldstar style silencer
Open Air Filter
Wider front tire (100/90-19)
Single left rear view mirror
Cafe Seat with Chrome Cowl
.........and other minor works.

More Pics :D

Anyone have any advice, suggestions or complaints?! Do share.

Gordon, I really, really think you have one of the best looking bikes on this site. Since you asked for suggestions, I thought I'd throw my thoughts in. I would remove the engine guards as I think they detract from the beautiful lines of the bike, a bit too cluttered. I would also either slightly lower the front end or get taller shocks for the rear end. When I picture a cafe, I picture a bike that has level lines. I think those lines contribute to the "fast" look of the bikes. Lastly, I dont know how restrictive local laws are, but you might consider chopping the rear fender making it a bit shorter, and *maybe* a smaller rear light to lighten the look of the rear.

I honestly think your bike is near perfect and the changes I suggest are what I think would be only be beneficial to the end result you are looking for.
