my cafe racer projects kz400 uk lots of pics ******************************

That's a great tank - I wouldn't even paint it - I'd use it just the way it is (especially if I had a Norton or my name was Norton).

I second that! Run it the way it is (short doing repairs it may need) ...that's just way too cool looking. Adds a sense of history!

i cant because no matter what the filler has to be chopped out and fiber glassed over so it will look poo might keep the retro style grafix tho and my gess is ill have to make a new seat hump as the one i did for my old tank will look out of place with this size and shape of tank
and thats if i can get it to fit at all :(

That tank looks familiar. I've got the same one shipped over from the UK. Let me know if anyone wants one. I went ahead and molded it and am making them now. I've got the top done but am working on bottoms for the CB models. Comes complete with 2" aluminum monza caps. In white gel coat and carbon fiber.

I may be interested in one also. Please post a link or an image of the carbon tank. How much? - Thanks, MBS

I sold my last one but I think I have pictures of it somewhere. I'll dig em up and post. I'm also working on a variation of the cr450 tank.

not my bike (i wish) but close to what the new tank will look like. Right now I have two different styles of seats available (soon to be more). The one in the vinyl decal post (http://dotheton.com/index.php?topic=7424.45) and a manx style that I can post a picture of later. All available in carbon or white gel coat.*

*be warned, this is not my day job. I do this in my spare time. So if you want one it may take a while. The carbon is pretty labor intensive so they will take even longer.

Here is a pic of my brothers 750 that I found. The seat and tank are just gel coated and painted glass but you get the idea of what they look together.

Here is the only two pictures I could find. This one was my first one so there were a couple flaws. Didn't have my vacuum system figured out yet.

It was still in the rough. Not trimmed yet.

no i love it i really would love a full set carbon tank and seat the seat looks very nice with the tank style i just cant fined the cash right  now as i am planing on getting a custom zorst and a single carb manifold what kinda price you selling them for in carbon and the glass ones you should do a build log of how you make them as i would love to give it a try

I'll be posting my entire CB450 build right here on Big Arse when I get it finished. Hopefully soon.
I'm still working on a price point right now and I will be giving discounts to DTT members. I'm thinking around $400 for the glass tanks with 2" monza cap. $650 for Carbon. $100 for glass seats and $175 for carbon. Will give discounts for package deals. I figured I'd throw a couple on Ebay and see what they go for. Of course the tanks are for race only and are not street legal/DOT approved. ;) wink wink. I think I can beat airtech on their prices plus I include the better Monza cap.

cant wait to see your build i had some free time to play with the tank chopped the bottom out to clear the frames top tube still some more trimming to get it to sit a bit lower and flatter
ill get a new seat hump made and i think i will glass in some bar dents in the tank to give me more space to play with and sort the gas cap and reinforce the whole tank

First of all. Awwwww, a puppy ;D

Do not paint that tank. Do not clean anything on the bike. Finish up the seat, and call it done. It looks awesome just like it is.
