My CB550

nice work brother! welcome to dtt. what all did you do with her? are all the mods just visual or did you tear into the motor? either way looks good.

Thanks. So far just mild porting and jetting as far as the engine goes, The motor and almost every original part on the bike only had 4500 original miles (8900 now). So I wasnt going to get to far into the engine until I had her broke in lol. Im open to any suggestions as far as engine mods go. I fabed up the tail cone, rear sets, batt holder ect. Its been a great bike so far.

Hey there, like the gold frame in particular, nice looking ride. Lucky to have an orginal with such low km. One minor issue for me is the mock Norton paint scheme though, just my opinion. The Honda's have there own design, appeal, and history, no need to take after a Norton (which is also a great bike, but to me another history and style). It looks good like that, just think a Honda or any custom bike should have it's own identity. I am guessing you wanted to tip a hat to Norton's history with the cafe racer, and/or just really like the Norton's and the old schoold paint, but think that another paint scheme would give you ride a bit more of a life of it's own. But take my words with a buckety of bonneville salt as I painted my old 550 pretty odd I would say, I liked it but many thought it was not what and old Honda should be (I was inspired by the wild paint jobs of Buses and Tuk Tuks in Thailand, which over there have protective and fortune guiding powers, thought it would be suitable and funny on a rocker cafe). If you want to see it that bike is just down here on this thread. welcome. Mangonotforget.

Actually I realy like some of the original honda paint schemes, lol the norton look actually just ended up that way, because of its simplicity and I always liked the black and gold colour combo. I had the decals made and the rest of the job is about 5 bucks worth of rattle can. Im planning a full re-paint of the tank and tail in the near future.
