My down and dirty semi-cafe Honda 400F

Id love to have an old Triumph....but they are hard to find in my area and command a premium when you do find one. I was wanting a cafe racer for my collection.

So this is what I ended up with.....its kinda rough and lacks the "correct" bars for a true cafe racer but these bars work well and they are comfortable. Also think to get the correct look I need to bob the rear fender a bit.....but I guess it all depends on your definition of cafe racer. One thing I do want to do for sure is replace those grips.....but I havent found any I like just yet and those actually are comfortable.

She start and runs like a top.....got maybe $1200 in it like it sets including the original purchase price of the bike. The air intake is a hand-made PVC pipe setup with a cone filter on each side. Side panels are just diamond tread steel....which also is used to mount the gauge cluster. The start button has been mounted under the seat to clean up the bars. The key switch is mounted to the side of the headlight bucket, hard to find unless you know its there.....again to clean up the gauge area. Sadly that is a car exhuast chrome extension.....but it works well and doesnt look THAT bad. I was working with what I had here.....which wasnt much.

Thanks for looking at my beater cafe....

Ya know.....in truth you're probably closer the what was really run back in '59.
Stripped down, slightly ratty&cobbled just right, a little loud and obnoxious...etc.
Cool bike!

agreed! as i just stated in another post, i love the cb400f! it may even be my next bike.

the ratty, rough look makes this bike! sweet ride

this is thing is ugly in a great way. ive wanted a 400 for awhile. looks like you get to ride yours all the time. nice bike

Under $1200 for a running and riding 400f is a very good deal in my area. I'm kinda jealous.
