My first cafe build - CB360T

Been there, done that, look at Neevo's 400f (down under an idiot with a 400f) for one type, the other way to do it is make an adapter nut to fit fork threaded on outside and internally then use a Katana front axle (CB is too short)
Why bother with rear disc? it isn't needed. I would fit a smaller drum if I didn't already have so many 360 wheels done. The 17" cast wheels I've looked at are always way too wide to be an easy fit

Thanks. I'll check into those options. ...and you're probably right on the rear brake. I think I was getting a little 'upgrade happy.' Calming down a little and refocusing.

As I brain storm wheel / axel solutions, I figured I should probably put a couple of hours of progress on the board so I stripped the frame back down and keyed up the grinder for another couple of hours today. Not much progress but we're slowly getting there. The noise and demolition therapy was worth it at any point.

Beyond that, it occurs to me that I've got an entire front assembly that I'm not going to need anymore, so if you're interested, message me. I'll eventually get it up on the classifieds section.

Weather depending, I might get back outta err tomorrow for another round of grinding but we'll see. Kickball is calling my name. Sweet dreams y'all. Pics follow.

And a few of the fork. I've cleaned/smoothed the top triple and started work on the bottom. Swapped to clubman bars, and tube mounts for the light. I'm leaning toward a new hub for the front wheel so it might not come with the assembly. I've also got a front fender and front caliper/master cylinder in great shape. Those could go as well.

WHAT THE ^%&$ ??? Did you cut the brackets for the center stand off?!?! OMG.
that is my favorite feature of my whole bike. I use it every time I work on it and Im glad to have it.
Simply remove stand and throw away spring...leave brackets. get a 8" x 5/8 bolt. And when ever you need it...(A LOT) slip it back on temporary. takes like 5 seconds. I dont even put a nut on the bolt.
Yesterday...slipped on the center stand. I messed w carbs. slipped off center stand. Test ride.
This morning...slipped on center stand. checked timing. slipped off center stand. etc.

Yeah... My OCD overtook my rational mind. I'm an idiot.

I bought mine without a center stand, so I was going to cut the brackets off. I guess I should not. :p
I had to make one of dees.

Yeah... Don't cut. You pay shipping and I'll give you my stand... Since I'm an idiot.

Ok, continuing the OCD, I've been smoothing the frame, manually. Yep. Me and the hand file are good friends right now. Throw in some welded plugs and some JB Weld as filler and away we go.

The key here is that the filler is used AS FILLER. Welding was done thoroughly, just a little ugly, given the mixed tube thickness.

You're gonna want to rebuild those dampers, too. They're (unfortunately) not too strict with quality control at a lot of the Chinese factories. Decent parts, but they need some love before they're ready for use.

Was cruising through the thread and saw this gem. I unfortunately experience this in my work and personal life. It never ends.

If it ended, the fun would be over. Lol

Brown Santa keeps bringing parts. Neck Bearings from All Balls Racing are in the house! Once I get back from vacation, it's going to be Garage Time!

Ballistic 15amp/hr battery ordered. Brass swing arm bushing received. I'm running out of excuses to keep me out of the garage. Anyone have a cogmoto hub laying around on the cheap?

Nope but any place that does garden railings or farm gates will probably be able to do it, they usually do batches so use real big tanks
