My First Street Bike

Hey Everyone,
This is my first street bike (ride dirt), and my first bike restoration. I've got her safe and running smooth, so now I'd like to modify. The biggest trouble I've had is finding a battery I can hide and still have a head light and tail light.

In the photo below, what is the part on the right? Some kind of transformer ac to dc? I'm assuming I need this for the battery, where can I find a new modern part? Thanks for the help and patience.

You're right, that's the rectifier. I can't remember the exact name of the site but it's something like oregonmotorcycleparts.com. They have modern units for sale. If you can get the wiring diagram from a certain year / make / model, any regulator / rectifier should work ok.

radioshack has the same unit that those guys are selling. But at radioshack its 5$ instead of 25 or whatever. You just have to get some female spade connectors and wire it yourself.
