this comming from a guy that built a land speed bike with a 8gallon tank with knee dents and a high pipe i can smell the flesh now. o and talk about to big of a seat o1marc you got enough seat on that harley for two bikes and last but not least you stitched "cafe racer harley or what everthe fuck into the pad" haha like the street racer civic kids with the huge honda window sticker....becouse we couldnt see the emblem on the grill and just had to know what kinda car all the noise was comming from. Christ the guy built the seat from web video questions and flower foam...it looks kool and here is something you wont understand he did it himself. o1marc your a empty pair of boots
Again, you have no fucking clue to what you are talking about. It's a 4 gallon Dunstall Low Profile tank made by Legendary Motorcycles who was kind enough to see the exposure opportunity and sponsored it to me. Knee dents were there to get your knees out of the wind stream on high speed bikes. Not a fashion statement like most people here put them in for. Burning flesh from high pipes, hummm, maybe I should invent something called heat shields douche bag.The seat is proportional to the rest of the bike and doesn't say Harley on it anywhere. And it is a store bought unit from RaceCrafters Int. from 1976, I didn't make it from flower foam and you tube videos. The pair of boots are mine, but they are empty because you are standing in them. Go back to your bottle and quit making an ass of yourself.
I just posted these pics to my build thread. Check it out if you're interested in a link to the material I used for the seat pan. It' called Kydex and it's really easy to work with.
Standard Velcro has a sheer rate of 80psi. With a large enough piece of velcro the seat is not going to come off by itself. It can't really go anywhere while you are sitting on it and the side "sheer" force to remove it is substantial. A 6"x6" piece takes 1920lbs to sheer.
I have to admit that the question of the heat did cross my mind. It gets pliable at around 300 degrees but now that the padding and covering are on and it's attached to the seat, I'm not too worried about it losing its shape.
I even used a piece if the scrap to make a mount for the taillight on the inside of the seat. Kydex is great stuff.
