my Harley dyna motor build.... GO FAST!!!!

sad part is... i am only going to use that fender for a very short time... i custom made a new fender, took 2 st bob fenders welded them together, so i have a flush rear fender, that is 4.5 inches longer than stock. it is getting powdered to match the tins, then my buddy in KC is doing a pin up girl of my wife laying on her back wiht her legs going up the fender, in the back round of her there will be 2 big dice, those are getting glassed to become my tail lights/turn sigs, will all be flush and part of the paint work. but that is a while down the road, end of summer likely. here is a shot of the fender though
it just has primer on it to keep from rusting before we coat it

Yes, yes, yes! now we're talking. That will be kick ass. I love it!

The rest of the photos show some really nice craftsmanship and attention to detail. Beautiful job brother!

Damn dude! Talk about go fast, you did that entire build in the time it took me to paint my wheels! And it looks awesome. I like the dark cherry/ox blood color scheme and the high bars.

Nice work as always!

Dan

geez man! this thing is so clean you can eat off of it!!
beautiful!!
let us know how the motor rips when you get to take it for a ride

yes sir! we have a total of 4 days wrenching on it... the rest of the time ws spent waiting on the head work and the crank... not bad, down to the frame and back in under a weeks worth of wrench time! nice to have help! my buddy chad was clutch in this build, awesome to work with someone that is fast, super anal about doing it right, and super knowledgeable... he got on one side, i got on the other and we just ripped. We are talking about doing a combo effort and building a wild chop to sell!

Yeah man, do it! God knows you've got the skills, and if you have help so you can do a custom job in a week you might actually be able to make it profitable. The world could use more of your creations rolling around anyhow.

Nice joe... she sounds vicious... I wanna see some riding videos... or maybe a WOT fly by after you break her in!

I took off from the 22-2 to do nothing but spend some time with the wife and ride with my buddies... i am sure she will get broke in fast! ha ha ha... now more waiting... tuner says some time on Wed it should be done... ahhhh!

well she rips man!!!
95', Welded crank, lefty bearing, Heads by WFOLarry, andrews 37 cams, powder pulley, barnett clutch spring, tappered pushrods, flat top pistons, 94HP and 98TQ, a bit lower than we where hoping but... i was not going to sacrifice the pipes for HP, i like them too much... 68 total runs on the dyno... got a few adjustments to make and then we will run it again to try and break the 100 mark... the damper makes a HUGE diff... anyway, ill get more pics up soon... harley BOTM? ha ha ha

well. did not get but 500 miles on the bike after the motor build and i sheered the pulley bolts. yes i check them like crazy they just gave up!

i am very lucky to have a buddy that owns a machine shop and he has a buddy that owns a even better one, he also happens to be a tool and die maker. so here is how we spent our saturday

First i got 4 of the bolts out in like 3 min no problem, the last on shattered the ez out. i tried to get it out but it would not shatter and would not drill, tried carbide bits, cobalt bits, punches, you name it! so i went to my buddies shop this weekend to have him give me a hand

here is what we had to do

possition the wheel on the mill so it was level

use and industrial dremel to core around the EZ out

what caused my headaches took almost 2 hours to get it out

used the bolts and dial to find center

milled out the hub

from here threaded the hub, after it was threaded found some threaded rod

Dave cored that out in the lathe

then it was cut, fitted, crimped and put in place..
here is a shot of the final repair! just as strong if not better than stock! unreal the tallent these guys have, glad to have buddies like this!

we did not feel a heli coil would be strong enough so making our own version seemed like a better solution!

got new pulley bolts, torqued to spec, and i will replace them every year now

put on 112 miles yesterday with 12 of my buddies! was a great ride the bike rode and handled like it was on rails! was a blast! this thing is so much fun, was an awesome build and i could not be happier!
