Nice!!! Mind, I'm just looking at the garage. Is there room for a "loft" in the garage? The rest of the house loks pretty nice too.

Yes sir, garage is lofted with stairs up in back. I think it's all 3/8" plywood decking up there so it could support a bunch of stuff. Tons of storage so I don't need to clutter the workshop up.

Killer garage. You could heat the upstairs a make a workshop up there for the cold months. Love the Florida room as a buffer between the shop and the house.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk, bitches.

Think of all the bikes you could store in the house if you dont put any of that pesky furniture in there........just saying.

Congrats Squad!

Great house but OMG that garage w/ man cave above. Way to go man! I am honestly jealous. Nice homestead!

Thanks a lot everyone. It is my first house, I'm 27 and since the interest rates are so low (mine is 4% flat) I figured it was time. I was dying to build my RD400 and had no place to do it, so this should take care of that. I've already scored some work benches and shelving from work so the garage will get up to speed before anything else! The interior of the house is very dated, obviously, but clean and completely livable. Thanks again for all the compliments, pretty big step for me.

I bought my first six months ago... 34 years, six months of mortgage left... Housing market here never took a hit, just grew a little slower.

Congrats first of all!! I am also in the process of buying my 1st house, closing should be this wednesday, but it my not go through in my case, just the other day I received the good faith estimate GFE, I know the APR is the true cost of the loan, however interest rate I was promised is way off the APR, it is 1.45% higher! I sent a copy of the GFE to a friend to see if he can figure out if monthly amount due includes escrow for insurance and property taxes (seems low to me to include both). Did you check to see what was your APR? Here is a good website to find out, all you have to do is input the amount financed, 12 monthly payments, number of months financed (30yrs = 360, 15yrs = 180), leave the annual interest rate blank and just enter your monthly payment only (do not include amount for escrow if applicable), give it a shot and you will see the true cost (%) of your loan :)

Good on all of you buying houses - just keep things rational.

Canada has a different perspective on mortgages. 25 years is pretty much the max up here, with all sorts of minimum down payments required etc.

I'm on a variable rate mortgage tied to our prime interest rate, and am currently paying only 2.4%. BUT, I keep the payments much higher, equivalent to paying more like 5% so I'm taking proper advantage of a low interest rate by paying more against the principle each payment and can easily soak up any fluctuations in interest rates.

That all being said I bought my first place 17 years ago. I'm hoping to have my current place paid for in 10 years or less from now.

Nice looking house.
FYI it's a lot easier to insulate and sheetrock that garage before you fill it with stuff. ;D
We bought our first when we were 29 but we were 28 when we met. LOL
If you are like we were, there is no extra cash for insulation right now. :)

Congrats to all of you guys. Tim has the EXACT idea on how to handle that. My wife and I bought our house 6 years ago. It's small, but the property is huge. We refinanced with the economy dump but kept paying the payment we were before. It's amazing to watch the gross number fall away when you do that.
