Any chance we could see some more pics of the cable actuated brake? I'm planning to put rearsets on my 750 and I've been curious to see how others are connecting the rear brake

OK here are some pictures of my cable operated brake modification.
As I said I used a spare clutch cable from my bike which I measured and cut to the length needed. I cut the small nipple end off of the cable, turned the cable around so that the cut end was at the rear of the bike (i.e drum end) and fed it through the clevis at the rearset end, through the cable and through the bracket that I fabricated. I put some springs between the end of the cable and the brake barrel, fed the cable through the barrel and secured it with a bolt on cable nipple.
That is basically it. The brake is so much more responsive now as I found with a bent brake rod, whenever you use the brake the rod tries to straighten out before activating the brake so it isn't very responsive.

Very cool, I had never thought of using a cable for the rear brake! Thanks for the pics, I think I may try this on my 750 when I install my rearsets. I was worried about aligning the brake rod but this looks muuuch better.

Exactly what kind of fastener is that at the rear? Is is just a bolt pinching the cable? I hope four your sake it's not, there's better options out there.
