hi everyone my name rick,I'm new to the forum, the project im working on is a1980 cb750k.i put alot of heart and soul into this bike so here we go. This is what i started with

it's going to nail it good. saw the same thing on a deathtrap cafe racer I fixed for a guy (becoming a growing part of the business), had to chop it angle it and reweld to clear
 
thanks guys.and i will look into that rear hoop.what about if i get a bigger shock do you guys think it will clear?

fix it right, changing the rear shock height without any consideration as to how it will affect trail is dangerous, that being said, your replacement shocks look shorter than stock and the fork tubes dropped up through the top triple worries me
 
Has the ride height or frame been altered since the first photo, it looks like there's plenty of clearance there?
 
roc city they are shorter than stock.idont know if its because of the swing arm stand.but im pretty sure the bike sat up higher than that.would have to check that out tomorrow
 
kiwi60 the only thing i did was put in lower rear shocks and lowered the front forks

Maybe the best way is to go back to the std shock length which will give you better cornering clearance, by the way, I like your FZ 750 - I'm a great fan of their 750's and 1000's.
 
Yup - raise the bike back up to stock height if you can. Honestly, it will handle way better and chances are the loop at the back will cease to be a problem. If it's going to 'look' like a cafe racer, it should be designed to handle well.

Nothing wrong with slammed bar hoppers, so if that's what you're going for then maybe just go up 1/2 way back to stock and/or angle the loop. But with the styling I'm seeing, 4 into 1 pipes, 18" rear wheel etc, I'd go the 'performance' route vs. a low-slung straight line hauler.
