Newbie signing in, picked up an 86' SR400 a few weeks back. was originally imported into Thailand (Yes I live in Thailand, am a born convict though hailing from Queensland Australia) as parts then built up as a Red Cafe and then sold and that person built it how it is when I purchased it, it's tidy but just looks too "old" for me, plenty of them out here but very few have legal road tax/plate/ownership book hence I jumped on this one when it came up for sale.

Currently it is off at the shop to have the following done.

Rims - Black anodized "Racing Boy" 17 x 4.5 inch rear/ 17 x 3.5 inch front, will be laced with black spokes onto to black anodized hubs.
Tyres - 17 x 140 rear/17 x 120 front.
forks - rebuilt with new seals/springs with black anodized lower tubes.
Engine side cases painted matte black.
Daytona Speedo/Tacho

future mods are (In no particualr order)

LED Projector indicators/tail light/brake light/ daytime running lights
Swingarm mounted rear fender
Flush fitting tank cap
Tank and side covers painted matte black with orange pinstripe (Will add an orange pinstripe to the rims as well).
Solo seat
Numberplate mounted under seat with tailight/brake light projectors
Front disc conversion
Shorty supertrap exhaust
Rear set pegs
< plus others shite as I think of it>

Anywho enough of all that.

duuuude, that thing is in pretty damn good condition. should have picked up a shit box to tweak instead, i'd ride that as is anyday!!
imagine how much you could sell that for in australia too. shit is so expensive down here.
 
no such thing as a "shitbox" out here. I paid 3k for this one with all legit paperwork (without the police can confiscate). A cheapie "shitbox" with no and or dodgy paperwork still runs at 2k.
 
Would like to do my self but for the time being Iam time poor and I want it done ASAP as it is a pig to ride at the moment, the big fella in the Pic is Khun Tu, he has a bike shop and will be doing the first series of mods. not including the Daytona gauges (I bought them new from Vanem) will cost a total of $600.00 (parts and labour).

The second series of mods I will do myself when time allows.
 
i would have thought TLand would have access to the underworld of shitboxes. 3k or not, you have a really nice ride to start with. i wish i had an sr too.
there's a user here called thang who is also based in thailand. he did a 400 and it turned out really really gewd.
