Bought this bike for $700 in pretty rough shape. Everything is good with the motor, runs great. It was just really ugly. I'm making some progress on it though.

Next step is getting that motor all painted black and wrapping my headers/exhaust.

Yeah, it's all custom. Added the hoop to the back, cut out a seat pan, then sent it to the upholsterer. It turned out perfect IMO.

Hopefully this weekend I can get the exhaust off and at least cleaned. The painting will probably come once riding season is over, because I gotta have something to ride around all summer.

What's the best way to get all of the grime/buildup off of the exhaust? I tried using a really course brush and soap/water, but I didn't have much luck with it.

Good degreaser will help spray it on and let it soak and spray some more !

Will do. I'm assuming this would work on the engine as well? I'm new to all of this

Yea it will just be more careful when spraying it down !

I use a soft wirewheel on a powerdrill, probably the easiest way but it can harm the paint on the engine, however u said u were painting it anyways. Also you may have to polish ur pipes afterwards if u do it on them
