My Whips/Scoots/and other ways I like to waste money

Check out Half Fast Chicago. Com
As I am sure you all have seen (But Noel keeps making me repost ;D) my current "fleet" , But if not see below.

Daily Driver is a 2006 Ford F-150 Supercrew Lariat which I got at a HEALTHY discount from work (I work at a Freightliner/Sterling/Western Star dealer, but we also own a Ford store). Gonna lower it 2'' in the rear to aid getting my bikes in the back (& level out the bitch)...

The main money pit, my 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air 2 door hardtop. I am the third owner, 30,000 Original miles, bone stock interior, etc.. Eventually will get a Procharged 383 or 454 small block, or I might go the turbo route. Whatever I do I plan to keep the exterior looking as it does now, so I can "surprise" some people..

1972 Honda CB750 Cafe/Hooligan/Racer deal. Bike was first bought for to-and-from work , and then I found sites like this ::) ;D. Biggest thing I did to this bike was the addition of a 21'' wheel in the front with dual discs, 16'' out back, and everything either got spraypainted low-gloss black or scuffed with a scotch brite pad..

Re: My Current Rides .....

Don't get me wrong I love my CB750 but I always thought the CB twins looked so much cooler.

Don’t get rid of your 450!

Re: My Current Rides .....

I am right their with ya man.
I love my CB750 and will prob. never sell it, but you cant beat the look of a twin...

I think instead of building a triumph come fall I am gonna doa CB450 based hardtail bike..
Then I can have the "look" of a Triumph, and the reliability of a Honda.. ;D

Re: My Current Rides .....

To keep this current here are the latest pics of the CB450 as it gets closer to being finished...

The bike needs to get the charging system figured out, Dual disc front-end, etc..
But for the 1/2 hour I got to ride it - it was a blast !!!

Re: My Current Rides .....

Thats a fine fine looking Bike, I like the clipon's where are they from ?

Re: My Current Rides .....

be careful what you do to that bel air. those things are worth so much more bone stock with matching numbers and what not. going resto mod may make it more valuable to you, but if you ever want to sell it, at least keep everything you take out. a trunk load of parts is worth a lot at resale. with only 30k on the odo, that is a gold mine. just one man's opinion.

later,

ryan

Re: My Current Rides .....

Where are you located? I totally love that bike, I would hop on that if it was anywhere near Seattle... : )

Re: My Current Rides .....

Just like brewtown, you've inspired me. I now know what my next bike is gonna be.

Thought I should update the "fleet" as it has changed alittle since I last posted. Actually alot has changed since i first started this post. I now live in the city in my pops building,
am about 1/2 way done thru BarberSchool, and will eventually take over his shop (which is below my apt) that has been in the same location for over 30 years ! So if any of you are in Chicago and need a haircut/straight razor shave, or just want to shoot the shit come search me out --> HTTP://WWW.JOESBARBERSHOPCHICAGO.COM

Daily Driver is still the trusty F-150 posted above. It's paid off and still running like a champ. With my future job being only down a flight of stairs from where i live I feel
I will have this truck for quite a long time..

Still have the Bel-Air. With me living in the big bad city and not having a garage large enough for a car I only drove the thing 4 times this past season. Has been parked in my
aunts garage out in the burbs for some time now. So it's pretty much in the same shape as in the pic below (minus it needed a good wash/wax/cleaning)...
55-22.jpg
Sooner than later the car is going to need a entire go-thru, but before I drop a dime on it I need to get a new garage built here at the building so I can actually have the
car here to work on/drive/enjoy it...

The "Apartment Bike" project has been put on the back burner till I get outta school and start making decent money again to blow on something that is going to sit in my
living room (under my TV). How the rattrap CB160 looked when I bought it:
DSC02154.jpg
It's current state:
SPRING2010.jpg
How it will look (somewhat) when all is said and done (who the hell knows when that will actually be):

After I sold the CB750 I bought a 07 Ducati Monster to mess around with.
How it looked the day I brought it home from the dealer:

How it looked the day before I sold it (this past fall):

Current ride is a 1998 HD Road King Classic (yes, a Harley).
How it looked the day I picked it up:

And after I pulled some of the nasty-ness offa it:
SPRING2010.jpg
Always wanted a Road King Classic to cruise around on, take trips, cruise around with the woman, etc.
In true ProTeal fashion this bike is about to go under the knife in a few weeks to get alittle "makeover".
All chrome parts will be powdercoated gloss black, bike lowered 1'' front and back, gutted exhaust, different tail-lite/turnsignal setup, mini apes, etc..
Will post a pic once all that is done...

Hey,
Nice subtle touches on the Monster. You took off all the right parts and painted the right ones too. Is that a repainted shock or what?
What exhaust did you throw on the monster before you sold it?

I checked out the "rat trap" when JRK mentioned it earlier. That thing is gonna be all sorts of fun when you finish it. If there are any small parts you need for that 160, let me know. I have a 68 CL175 that is very similar and sometimes searching for the small stuff can drive you nuts!

All the blacked out parts on the Monster were powdercoated (not painted). My good buddy Sean owns HTTP://WWW.THEPOWDERPRO.COM so he def. hooks me up when it comes
time for my projects. I was going to go with a gloss black but ended up going with more of a satin to match the stock monster frame better. Completely changed the look of the bike. And yes, the spring is the stock part (which was yellow) just stripped and coated black. Hated that yellow spring from the day I bought the bike.. The exhaust on the 2nd pic above was what the bike got sold with. It was a "boomtube" exhaust from my buddy Mark @ http://www.motocreations.com/

At the moment the CB160 project is on hold till i get done with school nd start making some cash again. The whole purpose of this project is to have what looks like a fully ready to ride classic "cafe" styled bike to basically look at in my apartment. I have allready gone thru the motor and pulled the pistions, and everything else I (or a sledge hammer) could remove to make it lighter. It will have cables, fuel lines, and all of that jazz, but the little hard to find parts I will either do without or use something I can get my hands on to keep the overall cost involved down..
