Been Around the Block
Last week I took myself along to the Motorcycle Live Show which occurs every year here in the UK.
I took a load of pictures, but I will only post the ones I think people might like to see on this forum. They where only taken with my camera phone but they are ok.
Hope you enjoy them.:D

Forgive my ignorance, but does anyone know what motor that is in that black metisse cafe? It's an absolutely beautiful lump.

Judging from the stand at the show they use a lot of triumph engines but from memory I think that one was there own, I could be wrong though!:p

Old Triumph.

Not a trumpet. Looks almost like the Wulf Norton from decades ago but I suspect it's something altogether different.

I dug around on google and looks like it may be an engine designed for Metisse but I have no idea who designed or built the two protoypes let alone who funded it

Isn't it Green? Yes that's a Triumph T120 or TR6 motor in that. Looks good.

I do believe it was either Cosworth or Godden that had a hand in developing that motor.

Ahhhh - Cosworth connection, here's the skinny ...........

Bike was developed in 2010 after Triumph renaged on a deal to supply new Rickman [ company ] owner Gerry Lisi with powerplants.

He contracted ex F1 designer Tim Baker to design the 1000cc 8V oil / air coold twin to produce "around 100 lazy bhp".

The whole bike was revamped around the traditional Rickman chassis and fitted with Triumph transmissions.

The engine was built by Specialised Engineering Services - suppliers to the F1 industry.

Engine features 4 bearing crank and twin balancer shafts.

Initial dyno runs exceeded 95 bhp and 70 ft/lbs of torque but steady development peaked the output at 140 bhp / 80 ft/lbs.

Price [ 2010 ] £16K / $27K [ US ] and there are 15 reputed to have been sold to date.

Is it me or does that right side crankcase / cover look familiar ???
