Btw I want to know the mesurement on a stock head! Not on the head in the picture.
Mine is about 0.070" and I want to know how much is has stock.
My machinist told me they removed about 0.020 of the head. I had to redo the combustion chamber profile andthe exhaust valve is now sitting almost flush to head.
I've got an entire 72 CB450 engine apart on my workbench right now. It's a little tricky to measure accurately. I got .065 with my digital caliper. I also laid a straightedge on the gasket surface and was easily able to pass a .060 wire-type feeler guage between the cast part and the straightedge. I did not have anything wider than a .060 feeler guage to try unfortunately. Hope this helps.
