Hello,
I picked up a basketcase 72 cb 350 twin. I am looking to possibly make an ARHMA novice production vintage racer out of it as I am located close to Road America in Elkhart Lake. I am more into the fabrication than the engines but am trying to learn as much as I can.
When I received the bike, the wiring harness was all cut up. I redid the wiring to just enough to start the bike so I can check the basics before I tear this thing apart. At first, I could only get spark out of the right spark plug. By switching the condensor and/or ignition wires to the other plug I did get spark out of it.....so, I think everything is good back to the points...more impeticular, the left point connected to the yellow wire. I did clean it a little with some strips of paper and the contact does fully close.
What are your recommendations for my next steps in troubleshooting?
thank you,
Steve
