Need Help Shipping My Next Project

Hey guys,

I have my next bike lined up. I won't spoil the surprise, but I have to ship it from Cali (San Jose), to IL (St. Louis). I would like to pay under or close to $500 for this but the cheapest freight I have found is $677 with Forward Air.

Any advice or suggestions? I'm going out to San Jose end of the month for a week for work and will be crating and shipping it out then.


Edit: it takes 4 days to drive and I can't afford that time, but that would be the cheapest option.

Uship.com... I've shipped bikes from Indiana to California for at or under 500.00 probably 6 times... Just shipped a bike to Oklahoma for 300 bucks...

I've had it take 7-10 days before I get something. You probably won't get something right away. How long have you had it posted?

Just today. But I had never used it before and I wasn't counting on it working.

I've seen it take 7 days or so before you get someone to do it. Give it a few more days.

I have used U-Ship several times. I found a fellow named Edmon- you can call and see if he goes out west. He brought a Bonneville from FL to OH for me for $250 and he is taking a CB550 from here to MO. He is supposed to be picking it up any day now.

I just got off the phone with him. He doesn't go out that far west but he let me into some loop holes and things to look for in uShip if I get some bids.

Still trying to find a shipper. One guy bid, and a pretty good price too, but I don't think he will be available at the time I need him.
