I finally got my cb350 SS tank! and it fits!!!!!! I like the cb350 tank better, but I might have to relocate the coils. I don't have a problem moving them underneath the seat, but will that create any problems?
Moved my coils to an under seat location, I think they should stay cool enough. Now I just have to cut down the pegs that hold the tank rubbers on and the 350 tank should slide right on
Ok.... have to use the 360 tank for the time being, the 350 tank is going to have to be modified a bit. After I moved the coils I set it on my bike and now it hits the top of the motor... so I can either move the mounts for the rubber pucks down, or I can dent the tank where it hits. The 350 tank is in really nice shape so I am reluctant to cut it up to make it fit.
I removed most of the paint today, still have to get in the small spaces. I am going to just spray some clear on it and see how long it will last.
I like the front of the 350 tank and how it hugs the neck. But the 360 tank has a better line for that seat to follow (350's hump might drop off too sharp for the flow of the seat). Also, that raised filler cap screams racer!
I decided to just use the 360 tank, I think I am going to shorten the tail by about 8 inches. I have to wipe the tank down with momar every few days so it won't rust.
