Need rear brake advice

VTCB750SC

Ride hard and play harder
So I got a pair of rear sets from a 2000 gsxr 750. I am going to put them on my 82 honda 750 sc. Was wondering if it would work if I took the rear drum brake arm and flipped it so it was pointing up. Then I could build linkage to connect to the gixxer rear set. Thanks for any help. Travis

This is a touchy subject for some. Some people say that it will change the way the brake works, since you are flipping the lever over. I flipped the lever on my bike, and the brake works fine. I can lock the brake up if i want to. So i say try it, test ride the bike and make sure it doesnt require excess effort to make the brake function.

no problem....not sure why they would see an issue. what was the comments? leading edge brake shoe? i do not see an issue or have i noticed any changes on a sls brake set up. if there is a difference it is minimal and if you are not racing a built up machine you will never know the difference...just make sure your brake leverage and brake drum arm angle do not change much as this will make a big difference.....joe@vcycle

Yea Joe...those are the arguments ive heard. Leading shoe blah blah...sure it MIGHT make a difference. However on my bike, i found no difference.

Thanks to all for the replies. I figured it would work okay for everyday driving. Will try it out and see if it works the same. Thanks again
