Need some bodywork help

Been Around the Block
This is the first project where I really care about getting a good smooth surface. I narrowed my tank and needed just a bit of body filler in a couple of dings. Went to sand smooth and got some very small indentations I guess where there was an air bubble or something. Do you keep sanding till that comes out? do you add just a bit more filler on top... that doesnt seem like it would adhere well. Or do you grind it all out and start over?

You carefully with a sharp utility knife, chamfer the holes, then apply just enough to fill in the small hole level. give it a very gentle sanding, and you should be gouda.

Look for a good quality spot putty, dries real quick and ready to sand in a few minutes. I'll take my projects into my garage, turn all the lights off and go over it with a small flashlight. You'lll see any imperfections that way.

Get some glazing putty, IMHO best way to get things perfectly smooth

X2 on the glazing putty. But generally speaking, glazing putty is only good for pinholes. If you need to skim across larger surfaces, you want to use a light weight polyester filler for skim coat. IMHO, 3M Platinum is the best, but Evercoat Rage Extreme light weight filler is also good. 3M also makes a light weight filler under the Marson name.

Cool, thanks for the tips guys! I am literally dealing with a couple of real small pinholes and 1 "depression" that isnt the size of a pencil eraser.
