Need wiring advise on my CL360

Been Around the Block
Guys, I am in the process of wiring my cafe 74 CL 360. I am attempting to wire a small switch panel (headlight toggle, momentary push start, small green neutral indicator, and my ignition key). I am not running turn signals and will not have any electric switches on the bars. My question is with eliminating the factory bar switch controls there are several wires from the factory fuse box and harness that are not in use. Do I just eliminate these? Question 2, My bike came without front and rear brake switches. Can i go another way or do I have to locate the factory switches? Question 3, do I need a kill switch or can I just shut off the key?

All solid questions, all I can say is, you could try just making a harness.
From my limited experience on my current build, it seemed easier to wire things up myself; I actually proceeded to sell a wiring harness I bought specifically for this build and built my own.
Cleaning out what you wont use of an existing harness seems like alot work for a 40 year old harness to possibly poop out on yeh' later.

Just get some 18G wire (a few different colors if you can)
Get an Inline fuse holder, and a 20A fuse.
Some connectors and Vinyl Electric Tape (Not the gooey kind...)

I wasn't comfortable with soldering, so I just got different types of crimp connections with Heatshrink build onto em.
I'm sure I myself could use some extra heat shrink but, it should be sufficient.
Assuming I build more bikes, my harnesses should get better and better as I go, trying different solutions and such...

That's fugin awesome dude, did you just follow the wiring diagram for reference? I actually tore down a fully spliced gs550 harness to possibly repair or rebuild; ended up buying an eBay one.

I did, but not the stock one at first. This being my first bike/build, I had no knowledge of motorcycle electrical, so I searched around for diagrams/schematics that others members here and on other boards drew up and made my own. Then I went back to it using the stock on, starting to make sense of it.

I was stunned on how clustered the stock CB360 harnesses were, it's almost hard to belive all the wire was even used. Mine it tiny compared... I moved things around: got some metal toggle switches for my kill and lights, located under my seat rails, no signals, Clean bars. Looking for a nice place to clamp my tacho, to also... I accutaly used the neutral light in the tacho guage, it gave the one loose wire from the alternator something to hook into.

That's inspirational shit. I will definitly attempt that someday. Kudos friend.
