Here is the story behind this bike:
My grandfather purchased this bike new in 71, It was his summer transportation up until his health declined in 94.
The bike has sat outside since, uncovered and has been pretty well trashed by the weather.
My grandpa passed away last november, leaving his estate to my father. My dad brought me the bike and title thinking I may be able to use some parts off of it, or just to scrap it out. As he was leaving He muttered under his voice "It's a shame its so far gone"
SOOOOO, Here is my plan. My fathers birthday is July 3rd, and we always get together on the fourth to celebrate his birthday and the 4th. I am going to try to get the bike in somewhat presentable condition by then to surprise him. the engine is free and has good compression and I cleaned the points and got spark from one coil. so I have some hope mechanically.
I told my father that I pulled a few parts off and junked the bike, so he thinks its gone forever.
I am needing the following parts to make this happen:
Carbs
Fuel tank
Seat, or seat pan
Coil
Ignition switch with key
side covers
and I'm sure i am missing some things, and Honestly this bike is pretty far gone, But I would love to see his face if i was able to semi restore this bike
The parts don't need to be in good shape, just usable.
