Neutral Indicator light problem

It probably isn't a big deal to have a neutral indicator but it'd be a heck of a lot convenient.

However my neutral inditcator does not work. There aren't any problems with the bulbs so it could either be the wire or the switch itself. Does anyone know how to get around this? Or would I have to crack open the transmission?

Make sure there is 0 corrosion and the wires are all good, make sure the circuit has a proper ground and you might get it working. Even connections that look ok can have corrosion that prevents a current.

Cheers.

Don't have to crack open the tranny. Just take the four bolts off your clutch cable engine side cover. That's where the neutral indicator switch is at. Check your grounding and your wires (mine pulled off the unit itself). you can take it off with the two phillips head screws.

Whenever I got my CL175 the neutral indicator light was on in 1st, N, 2nd, and 3rd (but not 4th and 5th). The connector under the clutch cover had come loose and was kind of dangling around the hub from the tranny. I just had to re-connect it and slightly bend up the copper/brass whatever it is holding it in
