new Caferacer in Detroit

Hello all,

I just found this board last week, and I'm all ready building my own cafe seat. LOL
I had the cafe bug ever since I worked with a guy who had three triumphs (60's Chopper, 60's stock, and a new speed triple).
I have a 79 XS650 that I had for two years, and finally got it running reliably.
The first thing I did to the bike after I got it home was to put clubman bars on it. The thing wasn't even running yet.
anyway, just wanted to say hi, and this site is great for idea and how to's.

awesome!!!! i have an xs also.. but it's an 81 (with the ugly wheels..lol) and is only a 400... like it tons tho! pics pics!!!

I'll post some pics of the seat as soon as I can. I was going to go the old gas tank route for the hump, but my buddy had an idea
to use expanding foam and shape it the way I want then fiberglass it. I'm at lot better at sculpting than I am working with metal. Here's my bike as it looks now.

yeah.. those bars have a nice solid rake.. unlike the flat clubmans they seem to make today...

Most Clubmans will flatten out or drop depending on how you have them rolled in the clamps.
