New CB400t Owner in NC

Been lurking for a few weeks, and finally getting around to introducing myself. I am located in NC and a few weeks ago purchased my first bike ever. I grew up working on hotrods and with the economy the low cost to purchase a 70's model Honda was too much to pass up. I found a 78 cb400t on craigslist for only $500. The previous owner started a nice cafe project with it. He sold it because he couldn't get it running after it sat all winter. I messed with the wiring and eventually bought a used CDI box and it fired right up! Just got it inspected today and ready to learn to ride. I plan on doing a few things to the bike along the way, but will not do any major modifications till this winter. I do want to get rid of the huge gauge panel though so I may order a speedo with the indicator lights from mikesxs. I also want to add turn signals back on just to make me feel more comfortable as I learn to ride. This winter I would like to either paint the comstars black or switch to spokes. I might chop the seat down some to look more like the bratstyle bikes. I am open to any ideas!

anyone know where to get more of the black rivet covers for comstar wheels? The back wheel is missing a few and a few others are cracked.

Rivet covers are few and far between i think. Check with a honda dealer, you never know. I love the tank by the way. Has given me some ideas.....

Welcome to DTT man. Nice ride. Cant help ya with the rivet covers as I actually dislike comstarts so much it pains me. :D Thos 400s are dependable bikes and easy to wrench. Look forward to seeing what ya come up with. Search around the site a bit too, as there are some nice custom 400s here!

Welcome to DTT. Where in NC are you?
I think that once you get the mike's xs gauges then your headlight will look better if you lower it about 1 inch. I would save up to get a nice seat cowl to suit your bike. That's a nice score of a bike for $500.
