I just scored a set of NOS 4 into 2 chrome exhaust for my cb550. What is the best way to break-in and protect the new chrome?

First make sure your bike is well tuned and not running rich or lean. But bottom line is chrome will discolor - it's a sign you ride your bike.

That being said, when I replaced my headers, I treated the inside with Kreem Blue Shield, and so far, my headers haven't turned blue or tan. Just need to worry about the headers - by the time the exhaust has reached the silencers it's cooled off a lot.
