This is my first 2 stroke bike build, my experience is with harly sportsters, shovelheads, and 240z's I plan to do this build with as little $$ as possible. picked it up from a local old timer for $250 not running bone stock and weathered. This is where im at now still not running but motor turns over starter works, i think its the carbs no biggie though. I have finally gotten around to working on the Yamaha added the chrome gas tank pieces and changed the handle bars from the flipped over/ reversed ones.

Welcome to DTT. That seat is going to be crazy uncomfortable (too wide) and please don't run the bars upside down like that. Lol...

That Z is gorgeous.

I'll send you a set of clubman bars for the cost of shipping if you promise you'll use them instead of those flipped ones=) neat bike though man, gotta love smokers and thanks for sharing it!

For a small frame bike like that check out moped part sellers. They carry narrower clubman that work really well.

What about those clip-on handlebars, I've been looking at them for a while but not sure if they would look right on an older bike

In this thread so far I see no less than 3 welders, one roll cage, a pit bull, a Jeep, what I believe could possibly be a wheel from a steam powered vehicle, and a weight bench.

I'm in.

As long as you also run rear sets.

Welcome to DTT man, lots of good ppl here with a wealth of knowledge. That's a pretty cool little work space you got there.
