Recently found a 81 KZ 750 LTD in a shed while on a photo shoot. Needless to say, I bought it and took it home with me. It's been sitting for years, but all there, and after replacing a few wires and a fresh battery, it fired right up.
I used to have a KZ900 back in 76 (paid $2400 for it brand new, IIRC), so this is kinda nostalgic for me.
I'm having the tank treated, doing some polishing and buffing, going to take it down and rebuild it into a cafe as soon as I get it running well.
Looking forward to getting together with the locals. I found out about this site yesterday when a guy with a very cool CB750 came by a store in Downtown Raleigh. Was told of an active group, which interests me a lot.
My wife tells me it was a great idea getting this bike, because keeping a 25 year old BMW up isn't costly enough...
