Hi everyone, Im newer to bikes but really digging the learning experience. I'm just finishing up a 1980 SR250 with a bit of a frisco chopper look, not quite what this site seems to be all about but I definately appreciate the old racer look and am planning on incorparating some of those aesthetics into an 86 FZ750 that I'm rebuilding this year (should be interesting to say the least).

Thanks,
Jeff

Welcome Jeff - having grown up in Winnipeg I had to chime in. What part of town do you hail from? I grew up in the St James area and left for Toronto 18 years back.

I come into town every summer. What's the local scene like for vintage bikes? Any regular meetups?

Im near confusion corner on the Corydon strip, besides the 7-11 superbike crew dont know much about the bike scene here, nevermind vintage bikes, oh well not too into scenes anyways. My pops and I like to take our cars out on sunday tho, there is always a good showing of classics in the Grant Park parking lot.

Spent the first 30 years of my life in Winnipeg, grew up on McMillan near Stafford, but the got the hell out. Can't stand the cold but still visit every year. Take the kids to folks' cabin at Falcon Lake.

Last summer I noticed a bunch of riders without helmets. I thought there was a mandatory helmet law?

I grew up on McMillan as well, and yea winter here is long and consistently brutal. As for bikers without helmets thats strange, there definately is a mandatory helmet law and cops here dont seem to miss a beat.
