Hi all

I'm known as Dutch, and am a confirmed life-long biker since I was old enough to get my bike test. Having started out riding off road bikes and motocrossers I got into scramblers, traillies, big traillies, then onto big fast roadbikes, then back to Adv bikes and big Supermotos (KTM950) and then two Superdukes, before re-discovering the joys of simple air-cooled living and cafe racers through a few choice Ducati cafe racers, and my third Big 1970s Zed. (I prev owned a z1R and a z650)

My current rides are a Cafe Racer'd KZ1000 which you can see on BikeEXIF or The Bike Shed, a Ducati Sport Classic Biposto HERE and a Ducati Paul Smart Replica HERE

I look forward to getting to know you all here...

Cheers for the warm (and fast) welcome guys...

The big Zed is great, but I want to start something new, something lighter (she weighs a ton)... Maybe a tracker or scrambler hybrid with brat style seat... Or maybe I should do a similar build on a z650...

We'll see...

Welcome to DTT man!

If you ever want to get rid of the Paul Smart Duc....let me know. For some reason I drool every time I see one.

Cheers dude. She's in the Shop at Untitled Motorcycles this week, getting a front fender, mini turn-signals and a tune-up.

I also need slimmer gauges... Any ideas?

I did think about a R65 tank as they are slimmer and more 'cafe' but matching the paint on that VonZeti seat would be a pain, so that will take a back seat.

Guys have fitted the Acewell gauge to the Airheads in the past. If it were mine, I'd think about going tach-only. A big round tach right in the middle. Race style. It's what I'm doing to my XS650 seeing as I'm ditching the stock upper tree replacing it with a Loaded Gun Customs billet unit that has no gauge mount provisions. Just gonna stick a big 12K tach to it.

Or you could go with a slim all digital unit mounted to the flat upper tree of the BMW.

I'd also think about ditching the Bing's and trying to score a set of the R90 Dell'Orto carbs or maybe some Mikuni VM32's. I just put a set of the VM's on my R75/6 and I'm sorting out the jetting now. More responsive and less to go wrong.

Better carbs would be good - although she's running really well at the moment so I'm nervous about messing with the steup till I have more miles on it.
