hold my beer... watch this...
Took the time to join up over the holiday, but just now finally have the time to introduce myself.
My name is Chuck, I've been riding since I was 15 (a long time ago). Bought my first motorcycle before my first car at 16. The PA winter's were a little rough on that '85 VF500F Honda.
Since that time I've moved for work to Southern Maryland and started learning unit twin Triumph motors from a gray beard that was local. Within a year found and rebuilt a '72 OIF TR6 into a bare minimum cafe. Customized a 2001 Speedmaster into a lowrider with some engine upgrades. Along with numerous friends' projects.
Moved to Colorado last year, again for work. But this time found a house with an area for a shop so i can really get into building. Noticed on multiple visits to Denver and Boulder before moving here the love of cafes in the area. Found lots of locals that have built little vintage hondas and new triumphs into hot little speed machines.
In multiple discussions over adult beverages, we have spoke of the concept of a "ton-up" type club for the area. But no one has really thrown a hat in the ring. So a month ago I started that process of launching TonupBoulder.com, which will be the jumping off point for charity and friendship by way of cool bikes and beers. Been talking with some of the Triumph North America guys to possibly become a chapter club in the future, once we show we are deserving.
I look forward to sharing knowledge, tips, and tricks with everyone. I'm always looking to learn (most of the time it's the hard way).
I just recently finished up a '74 TR6 motor (converted to 750) and it's ready for a body, as soon as the shop it ready to go.
