Hello Everyone!
I'm about to receive a 1969 Honda CL350 Scrambler (Stock). It's my first bike!! I really want to keep the majority of the bike original but would also like to make into a cafe. I already purchased a "Rocket Seat" from Carpy (fiber glass) along with vintage round brake light. I am wondering if I should go with clubman bars or clip-ons. Feedback? I am also debating whether I want to have the rims powdercoated black. Now, I was told I can save labor hassles by coating the entire rim with spokes and hubs. Any suggestions on this topic??

For those who already have a CB or CL 350 Cafe, any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you!!

I think clubmans vs clip-ons is a personal thing, but I will always go with clip-ons. I think it really cleans the bike up, and looks ten times better than clubmans. I also like that you have a lot of control where you want the clip-ons to be in terms of placement and angles.

Thanks Doubl3clutch! I will keep that in mind. If I do either Clipons or clubmans, do I have to put on rear seats?

Any advice on the powdercoating?

Thanks,
Ivan

You really don't want to pc the entire wheel assembly. How would you adjust spokes? Disassemble the wheel and pc the rim and hub.

Thanks Ringo!
The problem is that I can't find a local bike shop that will lace and true. They all point me to places hundreds of miles away. Shipping a rim as far as weight is no problem, but a hub? Damn! $$$

I will keep looking though... Thanks for your feedback!

About to begin the teardown of the my 69 scrambler and send to paint. I want to restore the tank emblems but have no idea how to take them off. Could anyone shed some light? Do they just require a heat gun and dental floss action??

Thanks,
Ivan

just looked at a couple of photos of a 69 scrambler online and the tank logos look stuck on. try it with the floss and heat gun first, should at least loosen it a bit so see how it attaches

Getting ready to rebuild the bike. Had the frame and various parts powercoated black. Rims, hubs and headlight were PC'd red. New seat, tank, sidecovers and fork ears were painted a dark creme color. Will add pics later. So, I have been researching lowering the front end and still have no definitive answer without having to swap out the forks and tripple tree. Does anyone have a sure way to lower the stock front end of a 69 CL350??

Thanks!!
