Big guy on a little bike
Hey guys like the title says this is my first bike and my first build, been looking through threads on here so figured I might as well join up. My bike is a 78 kz400 b1, plan on riding it the rest of this season pretty much the way i have it, then tear it down and really get into it this winter. I have a thread started in the project page but here is how the bike looks as of now

defitnaly getting a new seat soon as the one thats on it looks terrible IMHO and right where the double seat starts is where I'd like my a$$ to be
 
thanks, just a quick rattle can job for now, going to strip the entire bike and paint the frame and all this winter but I'm really liking the stripe we made up

Cool man was just in fort wayne last night actually, I live in Howe just north of LaGrange about 5 miles from michigan. but i went to school at ipfw and alot of my friends are in the fort
 
Awesome. I too am working on my 1st cafe, a 1973 Honda cl350. This is a great forum with a lot of guys with a lot of knowledge and experience. They have helped me through some tough times with my scoot. Quaker Steak & Lube finally opened in town,their bike nights are on Wed. We went last weekend and the foods excellent!

yea we just ate there last night, real good food. might have to make it down on a wed night and see how it is, one of my buddies down there is always riding around town on his z1000
 
Sherm I rolled past bike nite at Quaker Steak and Lube after work tonight, I work down the street from them so its real close. Dude the place was packed and they were not allowing anything but bikes in the front parking lot!!Note to self,ride to work next Wed. I was gonnachance it, but the weather forecast was spot on and upon walking out of work the sprinkles began to fall. Hey your buddy with the Z1000 is the bike blue and a hard tail?

Yea i heard the place is pretty crazy on bike night might have to check it out next week. And no my buddy's z is white and orange, its a '10 so def not a hard tail haha, if you see him you'll know cause he is about 6'4" 320lbs, kinda hard to miss haha

the plan is to head down saturday for the cruise in on meridian and staying down there for the race on sunday, but right now the motor is still out of my bike so hopefully I'll get it in tonight. but yea that would be cool to meet up while we are down there
 
yeah let me know when you guys are headed down.


I finally got my CB running right (knock on wood) and will be headed down there on Saturday night as well. We also are headed to the race on Sunday and can hopefully make the free parking on the backstretch of the track.

thats our plan as well, pm me a cell number if you want and I'll give ya a text when we get down there. and oh yea i took working on the bike from 5pm to 1am but we got it back together and running better than it has tonight so i should be good to go i'll be posting pics in my build thread tomorrow cause its time for bed now haha
