i just picked up a 1971 cb450 that i am completely re-doing and my buddy just picked up a 71 550 that we are getting clean enough since he wants to ride right now...i dont blame him
but were both from morristown
unfortutanetly my bike is down to the frame right now about to start puttin it back together tho...but definately down to meet up

alright i was gonna make a big progress thread when i was done with the project...but ill give u guys a lil tease just becasue of the jersey love

the day i picked the bike up about 1.5-2 months ago...got it for $200 dollars owner said hasnt run in this many years blah blah blah....very clean...almost feel bad chopping everything up....anywho fiddled around with carbs for about 35 mins started right now...success!!!

started stripping some things making sure everything else was ok aka engine

i pulled a forrest gump...since i aready did all that i just kept on going.. and basically thats where i am right now...stripped all the paint off of everything and started painting some of the items
and theres alot more going on...all at the same time...just trying to find time to get everything done.

Newbie Mechanic and Rider.
I'm from South Orange. I just started rebuilding my Yamaha XJ650 cafe racer. But unfortunately, I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for parts to come in the mail. I know it's a bit nippy to go out riding. But, hopefully when the springs comes and my bikes up and running, I'll take it out for a spin and maybe meet up for a group ride of some sort. Are they're any cafe racer clubs in NJ? I'd definitely be interested in joining one.
