New guy from MN (caution, kawi content!)

Hello ladies and gents! Been riding motorcycles since I was about 4, first bike was a yamaha mini enduro, (still have today! its gonna be my son's first bike) I currently ride a 2008 Z1000, and just purchased an 81 KZ750 ltd, which I'm now in the process of a quick and dirty cafe job for me to ride back and forth to work, as I hear these things can get upwards of 50 MPG, and my Z only gets about 30, and only can run on 91+ octane. Well, there it is, my intro, I'll be starting my build thread soon, as the bike is a basket case!

It will be good to watch your re-build, mate of mine is doing the same bike as you..so I will keep a look out for your thread..I have 2 x (KZ) z650's we don't use the K in AUS 1x Gpz750r & a GS650 Suzi.. Doing a resto on 1/ z650 at the mo & once completed I will be doing a caf'e on the other z.

Hey man! Good to see another from MN. I've got 3 kawi's at the moment, and a Subaru! Nothing greater in the winter here! I'm just north of the cities. Let me know if you need any random KZ parts, I've got quite a few laying around. Hopefully we can get a few guys from MN to meet up sometime this summer.

Ive got two subarus myself, and work at a subaru dealer (parts) so if you need a sweet deal on some suby stuff, LMK! Or want to work out a swap for subaru crap for kawi crap, LOL.

Sorry to thread dig, but I figured Ide update the folks to how far Ive gotten.

Its a KZ400 tank, chopped backbone to fit (not just for this tank, the backbone is a PITA on these bikes so this will open my options up) So far I've gotten some clubman bars, some lower headlight ears, pods, deleted gauges, deleted idiot lights, deleted turn signals, switches and buttons, added an HID unit, and a tail light off of my old ZX6R. She still needs a lot of work, but is at least ride-able right now, though it has a messed up misfire under load, so I'm thinking coils.
