Hey guys and gals. Signed up to check out the bikes and maybe post my build. In 1987 my dad bought me a 1983 GPZ 305. I was 15 years old. I loved that bike and rode it to death. I had a really bad crash on it with about a month of recovery. The first thing after I got healed is rebuild that bike. When I got my first car, the bike took a side line. I ended up selling it to a friend from school. It exchanged hands several times and ended up untraceable. I tried tracking it down but hit a dead end. I looked for a few weeks not finding even one for sale. With it being a small cylinder bike, I guess no one really messes with them. I put out a want ad on my local craigslist for a 305 and was immediately flooded with 550s. I was about to give in on a 550 when a man called me. He had a running 305 for $300. I paid him and worked for two weeks just trying to get it running better. It has 7000 miles but has been outside and its rough. I restore classic and antique cars and this will be my first bike resto. I'm planning a mostly stock looking rebuild but some smoothing and subtle touches. I'll post up a build thread in the restoration section.
