New to the Cafe scene...
Hi, thought I would introduce myself. Have always loved the whole cafe racer look but was more interested in big sports bikes and going "hell for leather" on my ZZR1100 . Grown up a bit and just recently saw a bike for sale in the UK...a 1982 Honda CBX550 F2C advertised as a 550 Supersports cafe racer.. Well one look at it and I knew I wanted to have it.....I think one of the most gorgeous bikes I have seen...fell in love with it. Went and seen guy and done a deal....bike had been standing still basically for 18 months ...so has needed some work to get it back into a road worthy condition...With help from a few guys at work who are experts in different fields.. electrics, fuelling .. general mechanics... I have a few things I want to do...rear sets... lower bars a bit...maybe fit a better exhaust with a tail pipe..got a 4-1 stubby with no baffles at moment...sounds gorgeous.. its some some cheap K&N type filter pods fitted...
The bike had been coverted beautifully and tank and seat unit painted really well and looks like a one off seat unit crafted from alloy..... but I dont think the mechanics were as good.... so have changed main jet fron 90's to 100's cleaned carbs needles and jets etc... checked all vacuum seals work.....all on going . Took it out for a ride last night trying to get the mixture right .. 85% there I think... more shake downs this weekend. anyway Hello and look forward to many questions and answers...questions from me mostly..
Cheers
