Howdy guys and gals!!! I have been lurking for a few months ow, and actually joined up a few days ago. I have been bitten by the cafe bug!!! I have been on the hunt for the right platform on which to start and have seen a few. Yesterday I found an Yamaha XS1100 1980 and took it home, though it is a big project to get back on the road. The bike is rolling but alot of it is in boxes right down to the rings. No problem though, I have faced bigger jobs. I have in the past enjoyed rebuilding ATV's and building ATV's. Gotta do something to keep you sane during winters. Today I found a little gem that I am more inclined to start working on right away. A 1985 Virago 500. The bike is in really good shape, though it doesn't run. Apparrantly it did a year ago when it was parked, but of course, no stabil was added, and we all know where that leads. I've added some pics to see what you guys think of it. I also am looking at a SL125 Honda. I think THAT would make a wicked cafe projcet because of the frame and seating position. I am going to go see that tomorrow and see what happens. I love the look of those little stripped down bare bones cafes that alot of you guys here have built. The SL125 is a very dressed down bike as it is, so I think it will make a great looker when done. I also just finished rebuilding a 2006 SV650S. I bought it damaged and had alot of work to do, but after a couple months, it's done. I had it ready for the road, then stripped it down and sent all the plastic and tank out for a paint job. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be posting alot in the future. Oh, and with the Virago, I'm still not 100% sure if I will attempt a cafe-esque build, or just bring it back to original. We'll see.

Welcome woodsv. You've definitely got lots to keep you busy! Keep us posted on the progress and if you pick up the little Honda.

Another Newfoundlander joins the ranks!

Where's that SL125 and how much? hah
Seriously shoot me a link if you decide not to take her.

Welcome to the site and good luck!

Well I got the SL125 in the garage now, and it's a great little bike. I see a great cfe in this project. I'll post some pics tonight.

Whats an XS11 like that worth these days? Some guys think that one in similar shape to that is worth abotu 2 grand still. You know, not running, needs work and a lot of parts to make it nice again. Wish I could find something bigger for a decent price (read $400 as a decent price, $500 in decent shape). Cant wait to see the SL.

Hey, go to the big arse projects and look for a couple threads by me. You will see pics of the Virago rebuild and the SL125.
