New Guy, New Build

Hey guys, new guy here. My father passed years ago, and since then, it has been taken apart and left like that for about 13 years. I've gotten around to putting it back together. I've got all the non electrical stuff back together, with some before & after pictures. I am so close to getting this bike running, but I have no desire to go through the electrical anymore, as it's a complete mess. I don't know if any of you know any decent places in RI/MA to bring my bike for them to go through the electrical systems. I don't have the patience for it.

That seat is perfect. Good luck with the bike. There are some sites out there that will show you how tot totally simplify your wiring if you want to eliminate a lot of stuff. But it would require either messing with it more or making a new one from scratch. It sure is a PITA!!

I'd rewire it all if I could find decent directions. I've put a dyna ignition and dyna coils on it, and I know that can eliminate so of the mess from the ignition system. I'd love to just go through the whole thing, but don't even know where to start.

Also, I tried posting an actual picture of my bike here, but the site wouldn't let me upload it which I found strange. Anyways, any links would certainly help! Thanks!

The way I post pics, for every forum I have ever been a member of, is with Photobucket. They even provide you with a link that you just paste into your post. Are you able to put on a Regulator/Rectifier to clean up a few more things? You can also look into using modern pin type plugs and centralize a lot of things. Wish I could be of more help.

It's an 81 kz750 with an 83 motor in it, as I just found out. My iphone pictures won't upload onto this site for some reason.
Let's see if this works:

It has a ton of new electrical stuff, I just don't know too much about it and I don't have the resources to find out. Thanks again!

Looking forward to your project. The picture you posted for your inspiration is killer.
I love the old KZ's. I have a 1981 KZ550.

Good Luck and have fun with it.

If you're looking for a spot in RI to get the electrical work done have you checked out Razee's in NK? There's also Cafe Cycles in Warren/Bristol area.

I have not checked out Razee. I've been there, but I didn't know they worked on older bikes. I'm up in the northern part of the state, so heading down there is kind of a hassle, but I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the info
