Just thought id say hello, im Daz and in Wrexham Wales.
been riding bikes all my life but only just started training for a full licence :-[, theory on the 19th and then three more hoops to jump through before i can legally ride.
got a superdream in my hallway in bits which should be on the road by the time i pass, i know its not a speed machine but its a start lol. ;D

Welcome! Don't forget to post lots of pictures.
I love riding in Wales, favorite road is the A470 from Cardiff to Bala lake, then across to Anglesea. I live in Exeter so it is quite a way, took me 9 hours last time. Wales is just beautiful, Brecon is probably my favorite stretch. You will enjoy riding there. I used to live in Cheshire and enjoyed riding through Conway to Holyhead on the A55 before it had speed cameras every 5 yards. Any bike sounds stunning going through the tunnels there, my old R6 in particular! Pictured is my ZXR400 at Bala lake. Used to go to Rhyl and Llandudno quite a bit too.
Anyway, will enjoy seeing how your project turns out, I hope you get on well with your test. Good luck!

thanks for the reply Sean, your right there are some great roads all over wales, one of my favourite is the A55 from chester to Anglesey.
I'v been looking through the forum for inspiration and found plenty of it, i am 46 years old now and since i was 17 i wanted a cafe racer so im going to have a go at the superdream in my hallway, probably not every ones first choice as a donor bike but its what iv got and it cost me peanuts so this will be my very first project.
I have read the build blog by jeff4uk on his 400/4 and i think his seat cowl is fantastic, im going to borrow his idea for that and do something along those lines for mine, i hope he does not mind, imitation is the best form of flattery.

Hi and welcome to DTT ,And no i dont mind its great to use this site to see what will work with what we have so any help i can give let me know (ps im 54!!!).
Im still riding mine today grin factor 10/10

Welcome Django ................ the "first bike" donor is not an issue - the fact that it IS the first bike is important. That hopefully means there will be a 2nd , 3rd. etc, etc.. !

You're right - there is plenty of inspiration on this forum, and folk willing to spare their experiences.

Hi all, sorry its been a while been busy with one thing or another so here's an update.
iv posted a few pics of my bike on the international side of the forum and will get some updated pics up soon, been concentrating on passing my test which has taken up most of my time and money but will be worth it when its finished, as it stands i have passed my CBT, theory and mod 1 tests and am due to take the final mod 2 on tuesday next week so all being well i should be legal to ride after that. ;D
cheers all Daz

Welcome Django, I am also a superdream owner, its nippy enough around town but wouldnt fancy going to far on the motorway. I hope your test went ok and you are now on the road.

Ok failed the mod 2 test :(, only one fault too close to vehicle in front on the A55, its classed as a serious fault and you cant have any of them, booked in to take it again on 24th December so fingers crossed will be a nice xmas pressie....Daz
