New Harley Blackline is kinda growing on me

I saw that the other day. BARF, Its made of left over parts and not in a good way. Looks just as bad as a FXSTD. I dont get why they stop makein some models that sell and come out with this.

Probably 95% the same bike, toss in a photo shoot featuring young urbanites and voila! Instant target demographic shift. At least it's no where as hideous as the Rocker. Now that bike is a hurlfest. Only current Harley I would buy is the Street Bob.

Yeah rockers are turds also. I have put Heartland kits on 2 of them. makes it alittle better. They can be cool bikes if you want to put some cash into it. Its got the same frame as a SE Springer. If I owned a rocker throw on a springer front end, diffrent tank, and no rear fender and it would be a better looking bike.

My buddy has a street bob all blacked out. I did all the work for him last winter it looks really killer.

its a harley. and not a cool, old one. or even a custom with a harley powerplant (which is semi cool). but no. its a harley, with 40 year old technology, that is "custom" even though anyone can buy one anywhere, long as you have the money.

dont forget the harley bandana, as helmets are for wimps.

I like that it has the sporty style signal/tail lights... but they should have done a factory side pate mount to compliment it... and i like the dashboard.

the new wideglide is a great scoot i have worked on several! may snag one of them or the sporty superlow up for hte wife... you know me i am a HD guy... just hate they are blacking stuff out and takeing money out of my pocket! ha ha ha

I like the CrossBones. Preferably in Olive Denim, or Olive Denim Pearl, or whatever they call olive drab nowadays.

Got that whole classic HD skinny-front big-ass everything else kinda look going on with it. Don't really know if I'm a fan or not. To be honest I'd probably go custom and build myself something totally stupid like this:

Now THATS a look I can get into. Seriously though, the Crossbones does look pretty good.... and especially so in the military garb.

No idea what everyone thinks over your way but down here it doesn't matter how it came from the factory, its what you do to a bike - or how you make it - that makes it custom. And no-one gives a damn anyway haha.

On the technology part of it, they're reasonably sophisticated engines in as much as they've managed to stay true the the HD company line and still be a usable powerplant for modern bikes. Other than that, yeah, they're concept is outdated... but so are Bonnevilles and BMW flat-twins and all sorts of other brilliant engines. Who cares? They're fun to ride!

Cheers - boingk
