hey guys finishing up my 82 cb450 .all that is left is linkages and wiring.it has all new controls and lighting and am wondering since ill be simplifying things should i just go ahead and buy a whole new harness.any suggestions?cdi unit?
You're logged into one. Haha... Do some snooping around the site. There are several really indepth write ups on how to custom wire a bike. Its actually pretty simple. Time consuming and frustrating at times, but really pretty basic stuff.
Agreed! Make one. I've changed a fair few items on my bike (modern controls etc) that work in a completely different way. Instead of forcing them into the CB harness I've decided to build my own.
All the work has been done on paper first, actually paper initially, then on PowerPoint so I could change stuff without redrawing everything again. Believe it or not its actually very simple and logical, just take your time and if you're stuck ask the legends on here.
I'm 95% complete on mine now and have what I need to finalize the design. It has less wires, better routing, more power to the coils and all the controls will work as designed.
