Not any more you're not.

Phridge, you know I'm pretty open to any kind of bike right now. I'm thinking yamaha xs is a good place to start. there seems to be quite a bit floating around so that's a plus. Honestly though my main concern right now is just learning to ride haha. I don't care what I learn on I just want to do it.

tommy p..whats your budget for a bike..and what shape you looking for one in..im always keeping my eye open for projects..

Im always lookin at bikes, so Ill keep you in mind as well. what kind of condition do you want it to be in?

Well honestly if I could keep it under a grand i would be very happy. Ideally I would love to spend like 600 or so on a bike the runs and may not be so pretty. I know this seems to be a bit of a stretch so I'm willing to at least entertain bikes up to 1000. I would really prefer a running one for now so I could at least learn to ride it. Thanks for keeping your eye out!

I got a bike! dp9 helped me out and sent me some bikes to look at. I wound up following up on a 1981 Kawasaki kz440ltd. It has 22,000 miles and from what saw it ran great. I got it for 825. The next step is getting up to my house. I was hoping I could have the guy drive it but 2 hours is a bit too long of a ride. I'm going to try and get a pic up here if I can.

Nice! major props to DP9.
I like those KZ's a lot. they seem to be getting more popular on the board too. What kind of shapes it in? Hopefully its a strong runner. I feel bad cause I bought my bike like year an a half ago, and rode it twice due to it needing repairs. new regulator and electronic nonsense. to new chain, tires the works. stuff got too expensive too fast, lol. So I hope you got something with easy fixes.
If you need help with anything, i may not know much but sometimes just havin an extra hand helps. Can't wait to see the pic.

no thanks necessary. from the ad, it looked like a great daily rider. should be easy to keep that way.

are we still waitin on that build thread???

Hey guys! Sorry I never answered I have been swamped at school and work. But yea the bike runs strong so far. No issues whatsoever, except that the guy took the horn off without telling me after I went to pick up the bike ??? . Now I need to hunt down a horn. I did get it take around a parking lot for a little bit though and it was pretty awesome. I really have to get moving on it though, I have had it for a month and ridden it for about half an hour. I also need a helmet and jacket. Does anyone around here have one they are looking to sell. About a size 38 jacket? Let me know if you are.

Welcome to the forum. Xs650 has a great aftermarket following, you shouldn't have any problems finding parts you need. Good choice. Minialist is sounds like a great direction for a build. Got a build thread yet?
