New led turn signals three wires. Old turn signals were one wire

I assume the one wire turn signals grounded through the lamp body. The new three wires i assume are for running lights turn signal and ground. So hook one wire to turn signal wire one to brake light one to ground but when i do this. I turn on the turn signal it doesnt blink it just turns on and stays on till i turn off turn signal. And it doesnt turn on when i turn on the lights. I have the wiring schematic and know i got the right turn signal wire and brake light wire and grounding to the bike is common sense. So what am i doing wrong. Im thinking maybe its because i dont have the front ones wired up? I dont know

You need an electronic turn signal flasher (no load). You can get them at most auto parts stores or online for about $12. They usually say something about LEDs on them or ask someone who works there.

The new flasher will have three connectors where your old one probably only has two. The third one needs to go to ground.

If someone tells you that you need resistors, please ignore them.

how legit is this info about the 552 flasher and 262 flasher units? http://www.bugmanweb.com/gsxr/flasher.html

Could be true. I find it hard to believe a mechanical flasher like the 552 would work but it is possible. If not, you are only out $2. The second one sounds like what I got.
