New member. 25 year old with 43 year old bike

Hello all,
My names Mike I'm from new jersey and have just recently purchased a 72 cb350 that I am in the process of restoring to its almost original condition. Have had many bikes in the past but there's nothing like riding something that's 43 years old. I've already learned a ton of info from this site and am excited to keep on learning. I'll be starting a build thread soon so if you get a chance follow and leave some comments.

Here's the gem I have recently purchased (1972 cb350)

And under that is last winters project a 2001 ke100 that I built a sidecar for so my black lab Dakota can ride with. I think she actually likes ridding more than me now.

Welcome Mike - glad you took the time to register and post up. You picked a nice bike to work on.

Looking forward to seeing progress! And I'm sure many would love to hear more about the k100 and your lab. We all love new and old bikes, big and small, dirt and street. And of course who doesn't love a black lab.

Welcome, the sidecar is awesome, I wish I could get my pup to ride in my sidecar. She's super scared of the bike once it's running though.. Was yours not scared?

Thanks John. I actually started training her to not be scared of it from the day I got her when she was 7 weeks old. I firsts put her in the seat and would give her treats and pet her every time I put her in for a week. I then started the bike while she was about 20 feet away. I brought her over slowly showing her it's was okay. A week later I took her for a little ride. She has loved it ever since. She actually comes running over now when I start up the bike.

I would try again but do it over time. Put him/her in it give him/her some treats and let the pup get use to sitting in it. Then Start pushing him around. I'm sure sooner or later the pup will get use to it. It will just take some time. Good luck.
