This looks like a great mtorcycle site. Lots of nice bikes , interesting projects and good information about cafe racers in general.

It is, lol.
I haven't been here from day 1 but I can say that everyone on here is excellent.

Hey Newman... Welcome to the board!!.
Post some pics of your ride!!..

Ps. dont listen to Ease.. He's been here practically from day 1...He may as well be a moderator!!.. ;D

Cheers..

I have been happy just to check out all the projects and look at the bikes that have been finished. I don't think I have seen a site that has so many projects posted as this one does. This is the most recent picture I have of my bike. I have a link to my photobucket album in my signature block at the bottom of my posts. I think it's the signature block

I'm sure we've all seen your bike.
It's friggin mad.

Modern tweaks with spoked wheels... freakin crazy look.

Very nice man.

(And pardon the understatements)

I also think your bike kicked up a bit of controversey over at caferacer.net.

Well I'm not trying to stir anyone up. I'm just trying to swap ideas with people that like caferacers.

Yeah definataly, that's what I like about your bike. Blurs a line that's allready thin.
I believe I weighed in with a comment of "Who cares if it's a cafe racer or a streetfighter, it's a fucking sweet bike."
lol

That's quite the machine. Is it an 83 CB750 or 900? What's the front and back end off of? How did you convert the dual shocks to a monoshock? I didn't know those tires were available in 19" and 18" but the minimum widths are probably too wide for the smaller bikes.

It's an 82 900. The forks are from a 95 900RR I thought they would look better because the tubes are bigger but still conventional style like the original forks. The swingarm is from a 2001 Honda 600F4i, I had originally welded a shock mount on the stock swingarm but changed to this for the same reason as the forks, I think it looks better, the size looks right. I machined the mount on the swingarm to accept a shock that I had so I didn't have to use the shock linkage that came with the swingarm.

I liked the original size rims 19 front and 18 on the rear. I wanted to run a wider tire on the back because it looked strange after the shocks and body work were changed. The Harley Vrod uses 19 /18 wheels just a little wider so I got rims to fit that size tire and then bought 76 750F hubs on ebay and made adapters to fit the 900RR brake rotors. I actually used another set of hubs to make the adapters I just cut them in half then turned them down to the size I needed.

Thanks a lot for joining up. I looked through your slideshow and it was full of nothing but inspiration. Makes me feel like I'm really slackin on my bike ;D

That bike motivates me to open the box for my robot girl friend and stop being intimidated by the directions. Although I doubt she'll be as sexy nor as much fun to ride as your bike.

oh my god its so freakin sick. im not lying, i was in the kitchen eating a turkey sandwich when i clicked the link and i dropped it on the floor. i think you just made me re think about buying a cb750 and modding it like yours instead of buying a $1500 television. uuuuugghhhhhh!
