Hey its funny how all the endruro bikes from that era look the same good luck with the build

Here is a good pic... its from the "Gravel Crew" of a DT 250 flat track bike... see if this gets your juices flowing for the TS 250

I think i am gonna head in this direction for my DT 175 build at least on this bike any way

Its a RD 350/400 that looks pretty tough... thats why i scored the bigger z250 tank then have a go at fibre glassing the tail seat combo ;D

sycho1 - that RD looks tough enough, but riding it with unbraced forks would scare the hell out of me!

Although pipes like that should reduce the power enough to make it a real pussycat.

Crazy

Hey stroker crazy, yeah the plan is to get the DT175 engine completly rebuilt and may be a portting job as well ... theres a bloke here in Adelaide "Redline exhausts" that can make the custom underslung exspansion chambers like on the Gravel Crew DT 250 ...no probs ...the 175 cc wont be a fire/smoking weapon but it will be lively!! ...point taken on the fork brace

Let me know how the Redline works out. I will be needing a new pipe for my DT400 eventually, and the guy I had lined up is unlikely to be available when I need his talents.

Crazy

Hey mate how you doing? ;D I'm from SA too, living in Richmond. Great to see another SA member. Looks like you got a wicked deal on those DT's! I'm currently doing a kwaka Z250 resto, learning a lot about these old girls. I also got a NSR250 laying around in the shed, gotta love 2 strokes!

i have been to his work shop and had a look at the the type of work he does and every thing from what i saw fitted to the bikes he had there weather new bikes or old 2/4 strokes was quality i showed him the picture of the gravel works DT 250 i asked a bunch of questions he uncovered a old RD 350 with some way sexy looking exspansion chambers on it i near jizzed in my pants the work man ship was awesome...i knew i was at the right place!!

Are you looking for a new pipe or s/hand? the pipe on my bike is complete and not damaged

Hey mate, good to see a local dude as well ...bet you cringed when you saw what i did to that old Z250 tank when i dished it in ....it was covered in dents and i got it for $20.00 the inside of the tank is completely rust free thanks to a seized fuel cap and petrol tap once they were off i checked inside the tank ...like brand new ;D

Z250 resto ...standard or cafe, bobber etc??

(I also got a NSR250 laying around in the shed) working or in peices??

Well, I took my front forks to my local bike wrecker down the road...Vlaster had one look at them and said straight away that they are off a XT Yamaha-250 79-80 so the guessing game is over now.

I walked away with 2 new good second hand XT 250 rims F/R (Both rims on my bike have some major dents in them) and a front disc braked spoked wheel off a 80ish Kawasaki MX bike in awesome condition all for under $ 100.00...no photos as yet!
now i got the option of disc or drum front brakes

So if you live in Adaelaide give Two Wheel Recyclers the nod you wont meet a nicer guy, great prices and best of all you can haggle ;D there located down in MorphettVale (check where is)
