Been Around the Block
Hi everyone. Ive posted a coupe times but I figured I'd finally post an intro.

Ive been into cafe's since I graduated high school when I first found out about them. I bought my SV650 in 01 because I needed a reliable bike to ride, and it was the closest thing to a modern cafe I could find at the time.

I own a bunch of crap that doesnt run. I have a hard time passing up a good deal, even if it isnt great. I own a ratty 71 cb500/4 that was originally a race bike from birth. It needs a whole lotta love, and i'll get to it some day. I am currently working on an '81 cb125 caff project for my wife, before I build either an sr500 caff project, or brit bike.

I really like your site, and all the members. You guys seem to do a good job of starting and *finishing* projects, and seem to be supportive of anyone with an idea, even if it seems to be non conforming.

Thanks for a great site and I look forward to adding regular bits of smart assed comments infused with a little bit of classic taste.

Sure, although it's kinda embarassing.

My primary project right now is the CB125S that I'm building for my wife:

The last is a '71 CB500Four that was an original race bike when it was purchased in the 70's. As you can see it's super rough, but my intention is to restore it to it's former competitive apperance someday soon.. when I have money:

I may also be picking up an SR500 very soon which I will be adding to this post when I do.

welcome, where are you from exactly? I live in Santa Cruz and ride a 72 cb500 cafe thing. If you ever sell that thing or want to part it out let me know!!, Steve

Bakersfield.

Have you posted pictures of your bike already?

More than likely, I will not be parting with any piece of this bike. I found it for sale in on cycletrader about ten or eleven years ago, and have been moving it from storage unit to storage unit until I had a place to work on it. I finally bought a house with a garage last year, but have been spending all my extra funds on the house and my roadrace project car. Hopefully near the end of this year funds will be available for the CB500.

Yeah, I'll stop by sometime soon. I work at an office down the street at Chester and California. Did you hear Brento's wont be around much longer?

Maybe you can point me in the right direction for a bsa project myself. I've always been partial to the 500 twins.

Yeah, I guess yamaha is bringing on bass boats or something with the new owner? Havent heard about Kawi, thats too bad; did they drop triumph? To be honest, Ive never had a good experience at any of the bike dealerships here in town. I bought my SV at the Honda Center, but only after a deal that was not unlike pulling teeth. I got my woodcraft rearsets through you guys, that went well. I know scott at R.Tillery personally, and a mechanic at Valley pretty well too.

Bako's a wayyy small town. Seems like everyone knows everyone else.

Ever went up to the Kiwi hotrod shop on bernard? All very good friends of mine.

To be honest, I dont know the differences between the unit and pre-unit BSA's. I've dreamed of owning one for the last twelve years, but never been in the position to get one. Now that I gotta sell the SV (casue I cant physically ride it anymore), and maybe another bike I may be getting, the beezer may be more of a reality.

What is Taco Tues? I guess I'm kinda outta the loop.

Great lookin bike by the way,
