Been Around the Block
Hello All,

Been riding for a relatively short time on the street, and mainly on my buddy's borrowed mid '60s Triumphs.

I have been looking for a "smaller" bike for some time now, and was mainly looking at CBs and CLs, but found a good deal on a very clean, original condition '77 XS 360 2D. Since you don't see nearly as many of them as you do Hondas, it appealed to me.

Anyway, I plan bars, tank & seat mods this winter (I'll ride it as is for now). I'm also interested in possible brake & wheel swaps. Mine has spoke/drum now, which to me make it look older than it is. That's not really a bad thing, but I do like the look of the classic 7 spoke alloys that came on the "C".

Can any of you seasoned TON-ers shed some light on which parts from which other bikes or years would fit mine. I'm guessing some RD and newer XS parts are similar, and interchangeable.

Thanks in advance for any knowledge sent my way!

god, that thing looks great as it is! it should cafe' very nice. those 7 spokes came on a bunch of yammies. sounds like a good plan. I personally prefer the wheels you have on there. keep us posted

Thanks! Yeah, I do like the looks of the drums & spokes, but I'm not real big on the rims. I priced some Excel rims, but I can't justify spending that kind of dough on it right now.

I just picked up a donor 400 with the alloys and discs, so I'll probably end up going that route. I've been absorbing some really great info here at the Ton (as well as inspiration) and winter is definitely kicking in here, so I'll be getting started soon. I'll be documenting my progress.
